Most of the Internet is text. So is almost every software user interface ever invented. We communicate with each other with text. Choosing the right font for your text is way too big a subject for this article so we’ll focus on just a small part of the larger subject.

One of the best font resources in the world is Wikipedia. They have articles on most of the major fonts which tell you what they are for and how they were invented. They can stop you from using a font from the 17th century to talk about your cool new product.
