Source Code

The Source Code

All of the code for Get The Eye is minimized and embedded. It makes the pages load faster, and the code much more difficult to read. This page contains links to all the source code with good formatting and copious comments. If you see anything here you like feel free to steal it. If you find any bugs please let me know.

This site is entirely open source and all of the source code is released under the Apache License 2.0. That means you can use this code in your site. It is free. If you use it we would love to hear about it.

Client-side code

gettheeye.js contains most of the client-side JavaScript for this site. That includes the dynamic grid, the list view, and the list on the search results page. It requires JQuery.

main_images.png and main_images1.png are the two image bundles containing all of the icons on the front page. The first screen of images are loaded immediately and the second ones are loaded in the background. Not exactly code, but I thought you might be interested.

custom.css contains most of the CSS styling for this site. There are also a few tweaks for IE in custom_forie.css.

Server-side code

custom_functions.php has most of the customizations to the Thesis theme for this site.

search.php generates the search results page.

WordPress plugins

The share this article link in the footer of each article is a custom WordPress plugin called sharebox. The sharebox is made up of equal parts PHP, JavaScript, and CSS. The HTML for the link and the dialog are generated by sharebox.php, the dialog is managed in the browser with sharebox.js, and styled with sharebox.css.
